Picking up a guitar and settling behind the drums respectively, noise began to fill the room. Deep, dark, heavy riffs were made and quite possibly enjoyed by several blocks of flats and houses around the building. No big plans were made. One show every year, free beer, towers of cabs and amps, guest musicians randomly hopping on and off the stage.

After several years of this continued tradition, Dorre began playing shows on request. Obligingly, several small stages around Leuven were played and Erik Heyns joined the steady line-up. Deciding that the time had come to widen the scope of Dorre, a more serious approach was taken to write long pieces of music that incorporated every aspect of each musician.

After the first UK tour in 2016, Andrew Hockley joined the band on bass. Having done the bands sound and being a long time friend, Andrew already had a firm control of the music and was able to transition in easily, playing his first show with Dorre at Desertfest Antwerp.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1490617702049{margin-left: 4px !important;}”]In 2015, Dorre first released a digital only demo under the name “One Mic Garage Takes”. This three song collection very much shows the transition from the original incoherent, chaotic tracks to the more defined and built up music the band now creates.

After the Garage Takes, Dorre played a select set of shows as build-up towards an EP release in December. The EP, “One Collapsed at the Altar”, consisting of one 30 minute track, was recorded and released on CD following a first stint outside of the borders, touring throughout England and Scotland in January of 2016 and sharing the stage with many great bands. The UK tour was a great success and the band returned to England for 3 more shows in November of the same year.

The highlight of 2016 was most probably Desertfest Antwerp, a very proud moment for Dorre and one that will remain fresh in the collective band memory for a long time to come.

In November of 2016, Dorre released a split album with Danish doom/sludge band Bethmoora, leading to a two week European tour in February of 2017. Spreading the heavy, by now post-metal/sludge, riffs through Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Czech-Republic and Austria.

Currently, Dorre is working on a new album with no defined release date.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_empty_space height=”80px”][vc_text_separator title=”” color=”custom” accent_color=”#7e39b6″][vc_empty_space height=”80px”][iron_button text=”DOWNLOAD THE BIO” text_align=”center” border_width=”2″ border_color=”#7e39b6″ text_color=”#7e39b6″ hover_border_color=”#7e39b6″ hover_bg_color=”#7e39b6″ hover_text_color=”#ebebeb”][vc_empty_space height=”80px”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row iron_row_type=”in_container” iron_remove_padding_medium=”” iron_remove_padding_small=”” iron_overlay_pattern=”” iron_parallax=”” iron_bg_video=”” css=”.vc_custom_1429199893577{padding-right: 8px !important;padding-left: 8px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”140px”][vc_custom_heading text=”KIND WORDS” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:12px|text_align:center|color:%231f1f1f|line_height:12px” google_fonts=”font_family:Raleway%3A100%2C200%2C300%2Cregular%2C500%2C600%2C700%2C800%2C900|font_style:900%20bold%20regular%3A900%3Anormal” css=”.vc_custom_1490617735148{margin-bottom: -9px !important;}” el_class=”.costumespacing1″][vc_empty_space height=”13px”][vc_custom_heading text=”Gifts and kindness from around the world.” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:30px|text_align:center|color:%231f1f1f|line_height:38px” google_fonts=”font_family:Raleway%3A100%2C200%2C300%2Cregular%2C500%2C600%2C700%2C800%2C900|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” el_class=”.costumespacing1″][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]“Dorre create a colossally heavy doom abyss into which they try to suck everything – your ears, daylight, reality – to hypnotising effect.” – Review of our show with Serpent Venom and The Earls of Mars in London. – Review of our show with Farflung in Leuven. Peps, Shoot Me Again.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”180px”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
